Sam James – Life Coaching

Sam James is passionate about supporting people to fulfill their potential and lead a positive way of life.

Sam has in excess of 10 years experience of supporting individuals in a variety of settings to make significant and sustainable lifestyle changes.

I believe that if people are provided with the right environment along with listening, encouragement (a few nudges along the way) and support, they can achieve what they desire

Sam practice’s non-directive coaching. She doesn’t provide the solutions and answers, but supports and guides coachee’s in finding their perfect solutions. She makes use of NLP techniques and visualisation. In addition, she draws upon her expertise in motivational work and social influences on change.

Through her life coaching and addiction therapy experience, Sam has become a motivational expert. This forms a corner stone of all her interventions and she has trained and supported people to become proficient in this area. It is a valuable tool, to allow people to explore how they are feeling about an issue (diet, alcohol use, drug use, smoking) and what, if anything, they want to do about it.

Treatments - Life Coaching

Life Coaching is a professionally recognised form of providing people with support to develop a greater understanding of their situation, bring about changes and achieve goals and dreams.

It can be beneficial to both personal and professional life, in order to improve your strengths and build upon your weaknesses. In the same way a coach takes people from one place to another, coaching is a vehicle to get you from where you are now to where you want to be.

Life coaching believes that the coachee (client) has the resources and strengths to discover the solutions and achieve their goals and dreams. The coach guides them in this journey helping with issues like stress, confidence building, goal setting and work life balance.

Coaching is a unique conversation between the coach and client. It isn’t counselling or therapy, and doesn’t focus on the past. It focuses on the future, on change and solutions to problems / frustrating situations. The coach doesn’t give advice or tell the coachee what to do. The coach knows that the coachee has the answers and the ability to achieve great things, with the right questions and encouragement.

Like many of you I’m sure, I had no idea what Life Coaching was really all about and was dubious but am a very strong believer in the pay it forward ethos and was struggling with my life/work balance and where being a Stay at Home Mum running what I thought was a hobby business really left my identity. I took the plunge!

Without going too in depth (as that is personal and where it shall stay) Sam has helped me identify what really is important to me. 4 weeks ago I felt I was grappling on the edge of a cliff and when I would make headway great big clods of ground would come away in my hands. This led to feeling disappointed and like I had no real direction. Sam has helped me focus on my real goals for personal and business and for the first time since starting And eat it I truly feel I have goals that I will reach in the next 2 years. No more searching for what works, no more negative thoughts (even down to removing what made me feel negative from FB, ladies do it, it is so cathartic!) None of this was suggested by Sam btw she just gave me all the gentle nudges I needed to put all the pieces together for myself.
